There is a huge range of activities going on in the various churches and across the Benefice. It would be great to have more people joining in and everyone would love to welcome new people! A small selection of activities are listed below, please do think about ways you can get involved with church and Benefice life! If you want more suggestions about groups to join, see Mike.
Benefice Wide
Mothers’ Union – Meet the first Tuesday of each month from 2.30 pm at St Stephen’s church. (First meeting of 2013 in February is our AGM). Anyone welcome (including men!) to come along and see what we are about. The Mothers’ Union is a worldwide organisation aimed at spreading the gospel and supporting families.
Arts and Crafts Group – Meets Tuesdays from 2:00 till 4:00 at The Vicarage. We are a small group of ladies that meet together to share fellowship and make various crafts, last year we enjoyed glass painting, card making and flower arranging amongst other things. See Sian (822286) for more info.
Coffee Mornings – Meet Friday mornings at St Stephen’s from 10 – 11:30. Time to meet together for fellowship over tea and coffee.
Ladies’ Events – Various events throughout the year including film nights and meals out. We are planning on going to Sofia’s for our next food based outing!
Prayer Groups – Pause for Prayer meets on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 am at Dorothy’s house. Anyone is welcome to come along and join the group.
Parish Prayer takes place on the first two Saturdays of the month at 9.30 am at St Stephen’s and St Ethelbert’s respectively. Anyone welcome to join in.
St Stephen’s
PA/Visual – Kate is always keen to train more people to work the PA for use during services. If you would like to help with this valuable part of our service then please have a chat with Kate.
Music Group – Currently meet for practice on Friday nights between 6 and 7. Talk to Andy for more information.
Bilson Mission
Flower Arranging – there is a rota for organising the flowers (see Lynne)
Bible Study and Fellowship Groups – meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month respectively at 2.30 pm in the Schoolroom. All welcome.
Knitting for OCC – it is never too early to start knitting for the shoeboxes!!
St Ethelbert’s
Bell Ringing – Practice is on Monday evenings (excluding the first Monday of the month). Anyone welcome to come along and try their hand and join the group.
