As restrictions have been removed and more people are keen to return to services in person, the Leadership Team are regularly reviewing what services, groups and events can safely take place and how we can best serve the spiritual and pastoral needs of our community in a safe and sustainable way. Although this does not mean we are back to normal yet, we are having regular in-person services each weekend. There will also be a livestreamed service available each week for those who don’t yet feel up to joining in-person.
Each Sunday morning, at least one in-person communion service is held in one of our church buildings. These vary between St Ethelbert’s, Littledean and St John’s, Cinderford, most weeks there will be services in all churches. More details about service times can be found on the Join us in-person page.
At 11.00 am each Sunday, there will be an in-person service at St Stephen’s, Cinderford. This service will be livestreamed onto our YouTube channel as well as on our Facebook page each week. (Ocassionally this time will vary, such as for a special joint service).
The Benefice of Cinderford with Littledean was formed in December 2010. The benefice covers Cinderford, Littledean, Ruspidge and Soudley and is part of the Forest South Deanery within Gloucester Diocese. The Benefice serves the community of Cinderford and the surrounding areas.
The three Parish churches within the benefice offer a variety of service styles according to a range of church traditions, but all are friendly and offer a warm welcome. Please look at the individual church pages for more information and service times or contact us for more information.
The Vicar of the Benefice is Mike Barnsley, who started his time here on 4 March 2011. Mike enjoys being situated at the heart of the Cinderford community at The Vicarage on Belle Vue Road. You may have seen Mike out and about around Cinderford and the Forest on his Harley. Mike would love to meet you for a chat or a prayer. Contact him on (01594) 822286 / 07903 436009 or send a message.
